About Dr. Needham

Dr. Joseph Needham, an Iowa native, grew up on a farm the third of five children.
His interest in American heritage prompted him to earn both a B.A. and M.A. in history from the University of Northern Iowa.
In 1981 he began teaching at Tennessee Temple University, a Christian school in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Needham’s years in Tennessee were immensely blessed. He married the former Sybil Cook, they had their child, and he earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of Tennessee.
Since then, Dr. Needham pursued further studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, taught in several other colleges and universities, preached frequently and pastored a church. He and his family returned to Iowa and in 2003 relocated to Ridgeway. This website is in many respects the culmination of a life invested in studying, teaching, preaching, and writing.
